Domesticated Apes or Trained Schooling Fish?

Living Cosmos by R. Ayana
Domesticated Apes or Trained Schooling Fish?

Why can’t everyone be just like you?

Few can exist in the hive-like cities of today’s domesticated primates without extensive training in the ways of the local tribe. The protective colouration of conformity is usually highly prized in the exclusive us-and-them existence of the primate pack, and those who don’t fit into the standard pattern of the herd mentality experience disapproval, approbation, exclusion, exile or execution.

It has ever been thus in unenlightened societies – but in the ‘post-modern’ world of the early new millennium, children are inexorably locked into anywhere between twelve and twenty years of training to fit into the needs, desires and ways of the tribe of their birth. It’s just as well that  lifespans are extending in most developed nations; the average university student has expended a fifth of their lives by the time they’re ready to enter the real world - the most vital and often the most creative years of their lives.

Now that education has come to be seen as a business - and not a natural right equally available to all - the expensive business of education has an invested interest in keeping people inside its convoluted alimentary canal for as long as possible. Overstressed, under-funded institutions offer study courses and facilities that narrow in diversity and scope to keep the diploma mills churning and turning over, and insecure school-bound people are entrained to believe they need a little more training before they can succeed in the big wide world.

What is schooling for? Is it for education and edification, or is it simply vocational training? Can it be both? Schooling begins as a bargain between each bright-eyed new child and the society that holds the keys to the cultural womb into which they’re born. Individuals are nurtured and supported by their elders and fellow beings and are trained to find a place that suits the needs of the tribe. But the beliefs of all tribes are rooted in the ancient soil of ignorant superstitions and they tenaciously adhere to the indigestible rocks of cruel and barbaric traditions.

Even today’s democracies are designed to control their minorities by the will of the majority – often a ‘majority’ of fifty-one percent or less. The tyranny of the majority is still just a form of ‘might makes right’, and the majority is certainly not always right – particularly when it’s spoon-fed lies and ill-equipped to discern the truth.

Almost all religions are based on misshapen ideas of paranoid extremists and are utterly opposed to democratic ideals. Religions commonly subsume individual rights, visions, hopes and dreams and often consume those who differ from their flock in ‘purifying’ flames or ‘unconsecrated’ earth. Religion is nothing more than a region with a lie in it, and truth is a prerequisite for learning. Religious education is even more stultifying than its industrial offspring and together these systems blind each generation that steps into the shadowy interiors of their constipated institutions.

Fitting new members of the human family into the patterns of the tribe or nation is normal, even natural – but in today’s world people aren’t helped to find their place in the community through education; schooling is controlled and directed by the invested interests of business and industry. Feeding young minds with knowledge that nurtures their growth is disdained in favour of temporary and illusory economic advantage. The natural proclivities and potentials of the individual are sheared off, so that they can be straightjacketed into a narrow life-path of competitive jobseeking, economy-driving house-hunting and stressed, distressed families. There’s little time or thought for thought.

Freedom is only available to fortunate members of wealthy and cunning dynasties - or to those who learn how to pull and play the strings of the disharmonious systems which these potentates still dominate. The leaders tell their children they’re born to rule the mob below and the self-fulfilling prophecy continues, confirming the status quo by a process of intergenerational hypnosis – another form of mind-controlling miseducation.

It behooves those at the summit of the economic pyramid to dumb down society so that there’s little competition to worry about and no effective objection or opposition to their self-serving plans. When cultures are controlled by and for industries and run as businesses, Humanity degrades itself toward the lowest common cog and the rulers are dumbed down through a lack of winnowing competition or cogent criticism. There’s little incentive or time for people to examine and improve their own nature, to frolic and explore through the vast realms of cultural heritage available to us all, to study, think and create, or even to simply meditate. In the industrialised feudal kingdom of the blind the one-eyed control freak is king and every talented teacher becomes just another brick in the wall.

People are hoodwinked into working harder and longer, convinced by their masters that it’s a good idea to put  their children in ‘childcare’ or schools, depriving them of their natural right to learn from their parents - and cutting the time-impoverished parents off from the wonder of their own children’s fresh minds.

Early schooling is the method these blindly burrowing visionless materialistic societies train their cogs. People wake up suddenly before they want to; we learn to suddenly snap our natural links to the greater inner world of our collective superconscious. The day customarily begins with a blaring sound and a sudden rush of activity, with no time to integrate the gifts of the inner life inter the hollow outer shell of the suit, coveralls or uniform. The route to uniformity becomes mind-numbingly routine and each new unique child loses all sense of expectancy, immanence and adventure as they’re adulterated into adulthood.

Most people leave school without even knowing what’s inside their own skin, without any idea of how to diagnose or heal themselves. They aren’t even taught what’s in their breakfast cereal or their pie. They have no idea how to fuel themselves with healthy food and are taught to consume poisonous chemical-industrial ‘food products’ from infancy. Today’s cogs are grown with built-in obsolescence in mind and aren’t even self-maintaining; people who aren’t very healthy may be less efficient, but they’re more obedient, well entrained to be too insecure to step far from an inept doctor or deathtrap hospital - and their infirmities generate a hell of a lot of economic activity.

A school of fish finds safety in numbers and conformity. The individual fish trades unique traits for statistical safety, yet these odds only really help the school to survive, not any single fish. Every fish eventually succumbs to entropy or the appetites of predators or parasites. The school’s numbers need constant replenishment and a single-minded unified will to thrive, as does any hive – yet individual humans are capable of far more than any fish or ant. We require far more than work, food, sleep and a screen to have a fulfilling life, however long it may last or comfortably cocooned it may be. We have no idea of our real potential. Instead of discovering who we really are, we usually succumb to the same old paradigm, however it’s dressed up or painted; the hive-structured society’s eternal injunction to ‘work, consume, reproduce, die’.

A free life’s far more than this dreary lie. There are much better ways to live, and to interact as grown-ups and children, lovers and families, friends and equals worthy of equal respect. All hierarchies are antithetical to this idea; how can people be equal in a quasi-military regime, where button-pushers, manual workers, academics and creators are still separated by crass class distinctions? The time has come to utterly transform or discard these outmoded societies based around the idea of an infallible monarch representing an equally remote an obtuse omnipotent god. That worldview is primitive kindergarten stuff; a revolution in thought that exposes us and our children to real education - that expands our minds rather than narrows them - can completely transform hidebound human cultures and change the world for the better in a single generation, or two at the most.

Enjoy your children and your parents. Life was meant to be easy.

Turn on. Tune in. Opt OUT. You’re more than the sum of your experiences, and destined for more than you can presently imagine. Let the Old Order wither on the vine – don’t pick its poisonous fruits. Leave them to fertilise the parched soil and work on something fresh and new. Together we can create a much better Millennium, if we follow our dreams and invest our time in better things than making money.

Manifestation Manifesto: Creating the World With Sublime Intent

Manifestation Manifesto
Creating the World With Sublime Intent

If we create reality with our wilful perceptions, how can we make a better Creation?

Keeping up with the mind expanding ideas, inventions and new millennial paradigms of physics and philosophy is a challenging pastime. We’re blessed and cursed to dwell in this amazingly interesting time, approaching a singular moment in humankind’s destiny. Some fresh discoveries and revelations directly involve us all. Perhaps you’re familiar with the idea that mind shapes the substrate of matter – that the manifest world is ultimately formed by mindstuff and thought.

It’s not a new concept. Despite constant dickering over the relevance of the quantum realm to the familiar world of our senses, this notion is now a generally accepted truism of the postmodern age, backed by innumerable studies. Plenty of evidence exists for the reality of psychic abilities in humans, but this far more personally challenging truth has yet to gain quite as much mainstream familiarity and acceptance.

Decades of experimentation delving into the effects of mind over matter have proven the case for psychic abilities in humans (and animals) beyond a shadow of doubt, regardless of the nature of damn lying statistics. Telekinesis has been satisfactorily demonstrated and scrutinised on numerous occasions, as have telepathy and precognition. (See Rupert Sheldrake, Reality is Malleable and the articles @ http://nexusilluminati.blogspot.com/search/label/psi ).
Many new proto-Illuminists take the low road, believing The Secret is that you can simply get whatever material object or person you want for your personal pleasure whenever you can harness your powers of manifestation. But the real secret is that if you wish for money or material things you’re doomed to ultimate mediocrity and dumbed-down cocooning. The best things in life are free; the Golden Touch was not a blessing for King Midas, but a curse.

In bygone and future eras – when psychic abilities are fully recognised – certain facts are well known. If one exploits any psychic abilities that arise as byproducts of achieving specific levels of focus and awareness, progression to deeper and higher levels is automatically blocked. Paths to higher consciousness are filtered by built-in safeguards. Clear motives and compassionate intent yield more fruit than indomitable will.

The implications associated with the reality of ‘mind over matter’ have long been known and exploited by various religious or other occult groups through the ages. The easiest matter to influence from a distance is living matter, and less focused minds have always been regarded as prey by control freaks of all stripes.

We are all connected; the same consciousness peering through several billion sets of eyes. The manifest world is shaped and maintained by collective consciousness. As Cliff High of the website Half Past Human has asserted, if individual human beings are latently (or actually) gifted with psychic abilities then the collective mass of humankind is likely to prove far more accurate in such fields as precognition and remote viewing.

The Global EGG Network operating out of Princeton has repeatedly demonstrated not only that humans affect random number generators, but that a great tide of similar alterations in the nature of chaos occurs around globally charged events – notably including 9/11 and the assassination of Princess Diana. But the reality and implicate power of the noosphere (nouse sphere or collective consciousness) is a concept that’s still taking root in the global mind, evolving as a microcosm of and template for our progressing evolution.

Groups including Transcendental Meditation have claimed that collective meditation directly and noticeably alters the collective and the manifest world. It’s further claimed that harnessing just the square root of one percent of any population will suffice to create a more harmonious society, as shown by sizeably lowered crime rates during periods of massed focused concentration – see http://www.alltm.org/pages/crime-arrested.html . Experiments begun in the 1980s with group meditation linking the heart chakra to the Sun have shown marked correlations with reduced sunspot activity.

There can be no doubt of the incontrovertible fact that mind – your mind – can and does effect changes in the manifest universe, at the very least. Are you aware of the programs running through your mind? Are your thoughts truly your own? Superstition can be defined as believing in things you don’t understand. What is truth, and how can you truly know the truth, rather than merely have faith in something you’ve been trained to believe? That’s what it takes to be a free being; relentlessly honest self examination and keen observation of everything inside and around you.

If you want to do the right thing it helps to know what the right thing actually is – otherwise you might mistakenly contribute your energy to toxic moneymaking scams like religious institutions or supposedly positive ‘good causes’ like poisonous universal vaccination, illusory cancer and AIDS ‘research’ or other ultra-profitable dead ends, instead of doing something worthwhile. After all, if consciousness creates reality, then the easiest reality to directly affect and alter is one’s own physical body and well being. Your health is in your hands (as is the healing touch, or the nourishing light of Reiki) – and it’s all in the mind. Make it so.

The most worthwhile task of all is the Great Work – enlightenment – and as bodhisattvas all aver, no one being can be fully enlightened unless every one can be enlightened.

Whenever great changes for good or ill have occurred in the human condition they’ve usually been spearheaded by a surprisingly small number of people. Humankind exists at a wide range of ages and abilities, with a vast variety of beliefs, habits, attitudes and differing cultural norms. Any small group pulling and pushing or simply guiding in a single direction will often nudge the rest into action, or at least acquiescence, and propel them onto the desired path.

Changing the world (for better of worse) doesn’t require a conscious effort by everyone; perhaps only as little as the square root of one percent of the world’s population will suffice – say the square root of seventy million, or ‘only’ 8,367 people (rounded up).

Until recently anyone who attempted to link up with likeminded beings faced manifold obstacles – twinned tyrannies of distance and time zones, culture and religion, and class/caste and race – which all served as filters and brakes on communication and cooperation. The forerunners of new paradigms have always comprised a tiny minority. Long before the internet and rapid means of communication, each community boasted farsighted individuals who were viewed by their peers as eccentric, at best.

Spreading ideas and joining with likeminded people was a relatively laborious (and more censored and potentially dangerous) task compared to using the freed instantaneous media we experience now. Networking has never been easier, socially or otherwise. We’re all individuals pursuing various dreams and aspirations. Some light workers illuminate the web with images, while others use music, stories, articles or videos to spread their messages across the unmediated true mass medium of our new conscious collective.

Some still bypass the net and directly affect the web of consciousness with guided visualisation, mass meditation or prayer.

The planet has always been a shared global mind comprised of the dreams and perceptions of an amazing variety of life forms. The web of life has many strands; no-one can be certain which are absolutely essential to the continuation of life. All our ecosystems as well as the very landform itself are maintained by the wilful wishes of an exceptionally diverse range of entities, including the obvious animal denizens of our shared world. We can only save ourselves by maintaining a flourishing diversity of lifeforms.

Humankind is but one of the strands in the web of life yet we currently leverage all others, inhabiting the spotlight-blinded centre stage in this collective theatrical display. We have essential parts to play in collective destiny.

Now that we’ve become a global village the internet is evolving into a prefrontal lobe of Gaia. We’re all neurons in the new world chaos of interlinked minds, creating more than just ideas with the connexions and links and citations we create. Focused consciousness alters the world itself, and the easiest parts of the world to shift are those which are already moving; animate and alive beings, including humans.

If your aid to the planetary ecosystem and your fellow beings is limited (by responsibilities or current capabilities) to the work you enact by caring and sharing world-healing ideas online, your precious time and concentration has not been used in vain.

Yet if you’re serious about bringing positive changes into the world, enacting your beliefs to build something truly beneficial or to save something precious may be mandatory if you’re to look your self in the eye. Some imperative changes on Planet Earth require bods on the ground, or under the canopy, or in bright orange inflatable boats, to act in front-line delaying actions while the collective gets its act together.

Enlightenment is the Great Work. It requires no material input. On a material level the most honourable work available to humankind today is the continual protection and ongoing restoration of the habitats we and our ancestors have so thoughtlessly destroyed. This is the best way to ensure a healthy, happy future for ourselves, the other species with which we share the planet and all who come after us. This is the noblest calling of all for those whose work isn’t limited to virtual acts of virtue, or lighting a torch in the cave of the skull.

Environmental action holds paramount place amid the plethora of causes clamouring for our attention. No charitable cause intended to solely benefit humans can ever be more deserving. It takes far more than a thousand years to regrow a healthy thousand year old tree; you need a healthy forest around it first. Legislation to protect the Earth moves much more slowly than a chainsaw or harpoon, and real protection requires sensitive souls on the ground (or in a vessel). Helping the world is helping yourself to a better future.

It’s impossible to really know reality unless one experiences the natural world firsthand. Living in entirely artificial constructs like cities and towns is a fantasy existence where nothing a person can see or hear or touch or smell is natural, or even real. Almost every apparently natural rock or tree has been set in place by human hands, and everything is a construct of the human mind – thoughts literally made concrete. Urban dwellers experience an existence that occurs entirely inside the human mind.

The real world awaits, and it’s far more forgiving and accepting than most human societies. If you’re in a position free enough to strike out and experience the planet beyond ‘civilisation’ you’re part of the small minority the planet is crying out to for direct aid. Saving something real and good is a great way to save your self. Every action brings many reactions that occur on a multitude of levels. The natural world is the best place to learn to listen to the inner voice and follow the inner light.

Moving out of the constant whirl of society is a weaning process that can’t be taken lightly. Leaving constant distraction behind can be difficult – almost as difficult as facing all the inner turmoil we avoid by continual distraction. There is nothing more challenging for modern urban dwellers than learning to quiet the chattering mind and experiencing real peace.

Most are taught to put off living the lives they truly want to lead until ‘later’, but tomorrow never comes for those who wait to pursue their dreams until they’re tired and worn out. By the time humans have matured – by around thirty, when endless urban entertainment begins to pall – it’s high time to strike out and leave waiting behind. It’s also a great time to begin planting food trees and forests, while you can still eventually experience savouring the fruits of your labour. It’s never too early to leave the hive behind, or to examine your mind, or to experience the things that make living worthwhile.

Meanwhile, there’s always time to dream, to know, to hope and help.

Dreaming the world into paradise is fun – and a far more fun ride than any of the alternatives. Dare to dream of paradise for all and we can still all end up there together – here, living the lives we’ve chosen on a blessed, beautiful jewel of a planet in a gloriously wondrous universe.

Keeping Up Appearances
(While Secretly Being a Mutant)

The Spirit of a Materialist Enlightened

In the New Millennium we all know that matter is made of energy, that this entire multifaceted jewel of a world, the universe and our own physical bodies, all we see or seem and apprehend with our sensorial array is immaterial energy.

We’re familiar with the image of immeasurable space in which small dots of matter are distributed as suns, planets and nebulae. We’re familiar with the same image applying to the microcosmic atomic realms within us;  almost everything within and without us is space, with a fine sprinkling of particles creating the appearance of materiality out of spinning blobs of energy arranged by standing waves.

It’s all a matter of perception and perspective – and appearance.

Proponents of advanced physics have gone at least one step further, promoting the idea that these energy forms are arranged by ideas themselves, by mind itself, by the reality of the observer; that the standing waves of energy/matter are organised by the consciousness that perceives them (see Bohm et al). This concept, along with the idea of an infinitude of alternate or parallel universes – a truly infinite multiverse in which everything and anything is not only possible, but mandatory – automatically arise from the notion of uncertainty, of indeterminacy as promulgated by Heisenberg.

They are inextricably interwoven with the understanding we have gained from the conceptual revolution of quantum physics; energy moves where we expect it to go, but it moves in every other possible pattern, state and direction as well – simultaneously. ‘Space’ is an infinite well of potential that can be tricked into actualisation by the manipulation of fields and frequencies . This manipulation can take place from and on many levels – including that of mind.

The Vedas of the pre-Hindu antediluvian world (that existed before the great catastrophes attending and following the end of the last glaciation) have always claimed that matter is made of and infused with energy, formed, constructed and infused by mind, and created and generated by a realm of existence that translates poorly into the modern Western concept of ‘spirit’ (rather, think ‘life energy’ or the ‘Odic Force’, ‘Prana’, ‘Orgone’, ‘Chi’, ‘Holy Breath’ or ‘the Force’).All four levels of existence from matter to spirit are intimately and implicately interrelated with each other; are parts of each other and represent a still higher reality, nestled within and beyond the multidimensional framework whose appearance we understand as the material world.

Aspiring to Inspiration

The term ‘spirit’ has been rendered vapid and ethereal by centuries of misuse by the superstitious. Today the word - and its bastard off-shoot ‘spirituality’ - utterly fails to inspire. Originally understood as the unerring spear-thrust of the Divine that penetrates to the core of each and every blunt material body, filling it to its extremities, ‘spirit’ has been downgraded and reduced by a millennium of false dogmas into a boring, superfluous concept that appears to have nothing whatever to do with the here and now.
Many things, ideas and beings exist and interpenetrate our day to day lives that affect us and our behaviour all the time, and we prefer not to notice. We prefer to think that all our thoughts and decisions are wholly our own, that our free will is paramount – even if we fail to take the minimal time for self-observation to ensure that this is so. Not all of these outside influences are human or material. Everything is alive – and everything is spirit.
That inelegantly dumb and bludgeoning cudgel of a Western weasel-word – ‘God’ – has been substituted for more ineffable and instructive terms. This feudal notion blocks the inner aspiration of inspiration, the divine right to divine truth revealed in the here and now to each and every one of us - the heritage and legacy of all beings.
To be aware of that which drives and controls us, we must engage in self-examination and the impartial study of the thoughts and emotions passing through us - and the actions we perform. Self-aware consciousness requires that we be here now. Without this awareness we are automatons programmed by our previous decisions. Only conscious behaviour and thought allow us to reprogramme ourselves.False teachings exhort the blindly, blithely faithful to aspire to a tenuous and tenebrous realm where the ultimate is divorced from the intimate; where immersion in the blissful subtleties of manifest creation is seen as incompatible with a deep knowledge of the self; where self-denial and brainless sacrifices made in the name of self-enslavement are seen as tickets to a judgmental heaven; where some potential existence after this very real life is more important than being here now.

Nothing could be further from the truth - because the soul is immortal and we all judge ourselves from a heightened perspective of consciousness in the end. Who knows you better than your honest, unalloyed self? The only time-tested method of temporary escape from your self is death - and the amnesia caused by the sensory denial of the womb and the bright, loud shock of rebirth in a perennial, self-induced amnesia. It doesn’t have to be this way. It’s just a choice, an ingrained habit that we can wean ourselves from, if we retrain our passions, minds and bodies. If we learn who we are and decide we like ourselves enough.
If you like, take a breath for a moment. Allow your peripheral vision to occupy your attention for a moment as you stare into this conceptual space that you’re reading. Allow your vision to extend to the periphery of your being, not focused on a tunnel. Hold that feeling, that perception of widening horizons. Feel how your consciousness alters as you focus on everything, from your brain’s centre. Hold that thought.
Try it again.
Sensual and sensuous immersion in the various pleasures, luxuries and enticements of reality is a prerequisite for true enlightenment – along with a journey of simplicity, compassion and self-examination, awareness and reduction of attachments and adhesions. It’s all just being here now. There’s no paradox – one state leads inexorably and rhythmically to the other; they’re inextricably interwoven in the multihued tapestry of life. Everyone who wishes to can experience and be many different things in the course of one single lifetime. Time is on our side – if we take the time.
Modern priests and religious teachers of all spots and stripes are fallen tribal shamans with only a vestigial awareness of their true role in society. Dynastic, world-devouring emperors and kings and their puppet presidents residing enthroned above their fellows are just spear-wielding hunter-killers elevated to positions they’re incapable of filling.
All of them are control-freaking confidence tricksters jammed firmly into the well-padded armor of their bodies by fear of the here and now and terror at the promising changes of the uncontrollable future. Not even their most accurate prognostications can shield them from the unknown results of their past and present actions. That’s the great universal benison of the uncertainty principle, a gift in the present to all free-willed beings. Priestly presidents and cardinal kings attempt to replace eternal ethics – like fairness, or the ‘golden rule’ known intrinsically to all - with a myriad of transient cult and culture-specific moralities that are merely arbitrary mores and inconvenient conventions. These evil fantasies of population control are dreamed up by hide-bound, straight-jacketed patriarchs and matriarchs whose job it is to maintain the status quo – to forestall all revolution or evolution of the species and its nature. The tell us to regard fear as ‘conservatism’ and suicidal behaviour as ‘tradition’, snug in their own well-feathered dinosaur nests, laying sterile eggs of untruth to poison unwary innocents.

The Fuckup Principle

These pseudo-potentates all poorly served by flunkies – self-serving public servants and lawyers/liars – whose own unenlightened self-interest makes it impossible and unwise to tell the truth about the system to their ‘superiors’. Likewise, the lower echelons of society keep as many of their activities free from the oversight of overlords and beaurocrats as possible. And it’s certainly not in the interest of power mongers to inform and educate those over whom they rule - beyond a basic level of competence necessary to maintain a passable, sleepwalking semblance of civilization that provides them with a high enough standard of luxury to separate them from the common herd – from the vermin in their warrens. Remember the image – it’s one firmly held in mind by many of the rich and powerful whose ranks much of the planet would happily sell their souls to join – if only they came from the right family.

This edifice of misconduct and miscommunication is known as the Fuckup Principle (by Robert Anton Wilson, Bob Shea and the rest of the enlightenment movement of the last generation) – the unavoidable consequence of a pyramidal, rigidly hierarchical and caste-driven society. Automaton-like existence in a hive doesn’t suit fun-loving domesticated primates and eventually the whole corrupt termite mound rots from within as it chews away the tree trunk that supports it.

The globe is littered with the ruined remnants of cities and other support systems for the use of the handful of self-obsessed people who believe they are born to rule forever.

Smart primates – like clever rats – desert these houses of cards when the winds of change begin to blow and take to the trees; then the whole cycle repeats itself as civilization emerges from caverns and deserts and the primordial swamp once again. We’re creatures of ingrained habit living on a planet subject to cyclic transformation, learning to work toward our own salvation through evolution, to remake our own nature with compassionate common sense. We have an infinitude of alternative futures (and presents) to choose from. We can live in the best of all possible worlds – in fact, we already do.

The Fat Lady Sings

Every object and event is not merely illusion – it’s the fleeting, transforming surface of a deeper conscious reality that all chemistry, habit, automatism and robotic behaviour is embedded in. Our familiar solid reality is an interlocked series of cross-sections of many planes and forces.

As many schizophrenics, monks and mystics know, every utterance is a multifarious portent and every scene or action an omen of a parallel, simultaneous series of overlapping realities. We live in a multifaceted living fractal jewel of a hologram where every question has many answers and every quest has a plenitude of destinies.

The consciousness and awareness available at ‘higher’ geometric dimensions or alternate possible planes leaks continually through the sieve of reality as the reality of our senses and the visons and concepts that enter our minds. We are gateways to an always tappable potential, to deeper perceptions of reality - and abilities that transform our notions of probability and possibility. We come equipped with the built-in tools to explore these other realms, if we tune our awareness and senses into a gestalt whose whole is far greater than the sum of its particles – if we take a moment to centre ourselves, to turn on, tune in, drop out of our notions of convention and quest outward into the unknown with sensitivity and self-preserving reverence.

The grand old cycle’s coming round again, and soon the fat lady Gaia will sing, ushering in another ending and a new beginning. We can do better this time. We’ve never been better prepared for what faces us. We’re developing the international social skills and communications to avert all war – if we can reign in our own passions in each and every one of our all-important lives. We can learn to govern our appetites and propaganda-driven desires and repair the planet that supports us all. The economies, techniques and technologies already exist for us to make this a paradise planet for all. Is this what we will? We’re fun-loving primates. We can even learn to like to share with people that don’t look, smell or sound like us.

And we can come up with something infinitely fairer and better than the same old feudal nightmare, the dominant paradigm that endures today through the nepotic and necrotic masks of despotism or totalitarianism or socialism or the meretricious meritocracies that pose as democracies, where only the rich can be elected to high office. They’re all a series of old classics dressed up in velcro and polyester and they’re all beginning to pall for the new generations of humans who are finally aware of what is possible – and easy. The eyes and ears and minds of humanity are evolving too rapidly to be contained – the genie is out of the bottle, and always has been. We’re the dawning of a new species, open and ready and waiting for enlightenment – ready to do the right thing by each other, now that struggle and strife are no longer necessary. Ready to do the improbable. The waiting is at an end. Just forget your fears and maintain a sense of immanence. The new you is coming. Can you imagine what you can be?
